halloween and cancer

so halloween was fun. i zombified several people. i, myself, went as Zombie Mary Poppins. Indi came up with a great line for me... "Just a spoon full of blood helps the brains go down in the most delightful way".  Indi went as a black cat who got in a nasty fight and her best friend went as a beat up kid, "the kid who doesn't listen". Lots of kids and lots of adults all in costume. Then Indi spent the night at a friend's house and i ended up at the Ghost Room, where apparently there are many men very into Zombie Mary Poppins. I drank a little too much, but it was my last evening out for awhile.
I am going to be out of commission for the next couple of months. I have Stage IA1 cervical cancer. It's T1b1, N0, M0. this is all fancy jargon to say that i'm going to be just fine. being ill for months on end and in the hospital for some completely unrelated illness that they couldn't figure out was the reason they did all the tests and caught it. I am going to have surgery to remove my cervix and i will be fine. I'm positive about it all and i really am not that concerned. it's kinda scary, but it will be okay. My parents, my sister, and my friends are all great emotional support.
the good news is that i will quit smoking and be free of the evil monkey on my back.

Roman Polanski raped a child many years ago and then fled the country to avoid prosecution.

but because he makes cool movies, he should totally get away with it?

so i made it here just fine... heathrow wasn't too bad, only spent 30 minutes or so in customs, then waited for simon to show up. spent the day with his 16 year old daughter Cara and her best friend Holly... we walked around Aylesbury and i had about 4 shots of expresso.... which cured my jetlag.... bought a pound of cherries at the market square.... when we got back home, we were locked out, so i showed the girls how to circumnavigate the lock with my Miami Dade Library card. then later in the evening simon and i went to this pub where we drank and he talked about his lovely girlfriend.... low ceilings in that pub.... i don't want to look tooooo much like a tourist, so i didn't take any pictures of the pub.... but i will... because i really don't have any shame.... i do not have the software for my computer here, so i'm going to find it online and download it later. i have an 8 gig memorycard in my camera, so i won't be running out of space on it anytime soon.
today, i am going to go wander around on my own... supposed to meet up with si and his coworkers at some pub a couple of miles from here, so hopefully i'll be able to find my way back over there....

i'm off to go get lost! it's the best way to explore a city.

tomorrow morning i will be taking indi to the airport. she's off to texas and california for a month. then it's back home to build the shipping crate for the paintings that i'm taking over to simon in england.

monday will be a day filled with yard work, laundry, packing, scrabble games, and i'll end the day hanging out with my neighbour, Kristi.

tuesday i'll spend the day with my parents and then at the airport and on a plane for 9 hours.

i'm rather excited about this trip. i do not have any definate plans for while i'm over there... which is a good thing.

i know i'm going to go see Ryan and his lady while i'm there... simon of course... tim.... and Raztastic as well.... other than that, no def plans. Simon says that we'll take a trip up to scotland most likely, maybe ireland, probably france, and maybe poland... not sure though... we'll see....

i'm really tired... indi has been having friends over all week, and yesterday we had four 11 year old girls over. today we did many things together and then we ended up at starbucks with my neighbour, Kristi, and her daughter...

my mind is all blah... and i really don't have anything of interest to say. so.... yeah.... i hope that all of you are doing well.

happy mother's day to all you mommys out there...

last night i could have gone out with a couple of different people here in the lovely city known as Miami.... instead i stayed home and painted.... and have a lovely conversation with my friend Kain.

we spoke of livejournal, and i had explained that i haven't posted much on it as of late, and that the majority of my posts are old, are of my old life, and that most of them do not apply...

so i have set all the entries to private and i will comb through them all and reset some of them to friends and public.

i am going to get back to posting on here often again... just been through a rebirth and finally have coordination in my emotional limbs.

life is damned good!

here is a pic of indi and i from this past week:

this is from my new camera that my mommy got me for my england trip next month.... she thought it would be a shame for me to spend a month overseas and not have a camera to record my adventures... she's a pretty bad ass mom sometimes!

Miami, Dry Tortugas, England, and Austin

So the past several months have been rather hectic.

Indi and I moved to Miami to help my parents out with repairs on the house to get it ready for showing. My plan was to find a job here, part time, and save up enough money to travel with Indi... and to buy my tattoo equipment... and have a cushion for when we moved back to Austin. I, however, do not speak spanish, and this makes things EXTREMELY difficult in a city where 80% of the populace speaks spanish.

My dad and i went sailing for two and a half weeks.... ended up in Dry Tortugas... the US's most remote national park... an amazingly beautiful place. The trip washed away all the ickiness of the past few years. it's amazing how cleansing the ocean can be. There were many piratey songs, the jolly roger up at all times, several scary moments of waves and weather that were too much, cold weather, dolphins, crystal clear beaches, snorkeling, swimming with sharks, and rum... lots of rum! Yar!

Indi is doing well, she's been moved into the gifted and talented class at her school... and has been training with the Florida Circus Arts Center. Flying trapeze and the Silks are her thing. She's loving her school and all the friends that she has made here. But she misses Austin with a passion.

Flipside may still happen, I'm leaving my option open to go and hang out with my extended family of pyromaniacs, but not sure if that is going to work.... Most likely it will occur in a spontaneous manner where i fly out the day of, and enjoy the freakalicious safari, then fly back ASAP in order to get ready for my next trip....

June 9th, i'll be heading over the Atlantic to visit with some friends. London, Aylesbury, Dublin, Glasgow, some camping in France, and hopefully spend some time aboard a long boat on the Thames. I'm very excited about this trip!!! Will be heading back to Miami on July 7th.

Then, late July, Indi and i will be moving back to Mother Texas. Shep, Joy, Tamerika, Katzen, Tony, and many others have written their need for the Mare and the Indi... and since things here are not quite as awesome as i had hoped (didn't really expect much)... We're coming home.

i've been out of the blogging mood for awhile, but i hope to get back into the groove of things again.

hope that all of you are doing well, and if you get a chance, feel free to post a comment and let me know what's going on with you!

gardening... my new addiction

  • Apr. 15th, 2008 at 1:23 PM

so i have come to terms with the fact that i have a new addiction...

i am addicted to the smell of freshly tilled earth.

i am addicted to digging in dirt.

i am addicted to planting pretty flowers and plants.

i am addicted to watching them grow.

i am addicted to watering them.

i am addicted to weeding my garden.

my gardening started around the trees.... now it takes up the front yard.... i'm going to be moving to the side yard and the back yard soon.

i have planted flowers, plants, bushes, trees and bulbs.... and i have so much to do.

i cut my grass with a pair of scissors.

i love the feel of the sun on me, and the breeze.... just sitting in my garden, and taking care of it and growing things.

even inside my cubicle right now, i am thinking of my garden... and painting pictures of flowers from my garden.

i am truly addicted.

we're getting all sorts of claims calls today... I had a customer call in, to check on his claim. the incident details were that it was a car verses a deer. asked him if he hit the deer or if a deer hit him. i told him that that seems to be happening often these days. he explained that it's spring and the deer are all twitterpated.
